Search that understands what shoppers meant.
Every feature below works the same on WordPress, Shopify and custom stores.
hedphones
finds Headphones
Fuzzy search
Typos and missing letters are forgiven, and so are typos in the middle of longer words.
RUN-193
finds Aurora Running Shoes
SKU search
Exact and partial SKUs. Dashes, spaces and case don't matter: RUN-193 = run193.
RUN-193-42
finds The same shoe, size 42
Variation SKU search
The SKU of a size or color variant brings up its parent product.
mesh
finds Running shoes with a mesh upper
Custom fields & attributes
Color, size, material, model number, or any product meta you choose.
earphones
finds Bluetooth earbuds
Synonyms
Add your shoppers' words once: earphones = earbuds, tee = t-shirt. They work both ways.
case
finds The Phone Cases category, then products
Category & tag suggestions
Matching categories and tags appear above the products, with how many items each holds.
taped seams
finds Rain and softshell jackets
Title, description & short description
Every text field is searched. A title match still ranks first.
labtop 16gb
finds Laptops with 16 GB of memory
Numbers and units
“16gb” matches “16 GB”, and model numbers are never fuzzed, so 4K won't turn into 8K.
headphones under 100
finds Headphones, filtered to $100 or less
Understands what shoppers mean
Prices (“under 50”, “between 20 and 40”), “in stock” and “on sale” in the words become filters.
headfone wirless
finds Results for “headphones wireless”
Did you mean
When nothing matches, Gazelle searches the closest words in your catalog and says so.
Rules for any search
Combine as many actions as you need in one rule, and schedule it for a campaign.
- Pin products
- Put chosen products at fixed positions, even ones that wouldn't match the words.
- Hide products
- Keep accessories, discontinued items or the wrong brand out of a search.
- Boost or bury
- Move products up or down by brand, category, tag, stock status, color or size.
- Redirect
- Send “returns”, “shipping” or “size guide” straight to the right page when Enter is pressed.
- Search something else
- Turn a word your catalog doesn't use into one it does, with “Showing results for …”.
- Banner
- Show a campaign above the results, with its own link and image.
- Schedule
- Start and end dates, so Black Friday rules switch themselves on and off.
- Live preview
- See exactly what shoppers will get before you save.

In the dropdown
- Results page with filters
- Category, brand, color, size, price, stock and sale filters, plus sorting. Built in, no theme work.
- Recommendations
- Bestsellers, trending, new arrivals, similar items and recently viewed, anywhere on your store.
- Search suggestions
- Completions learned from what your shoppers searched successfully, and popular searches when the box is empty.
- Voice search
- A microphone in the search box, in the shopper's language.
- Image, price and SKU in the dropdown
- Sale prices are struck through, and out-of-stock items are marked.
- Keyword banners
- Show a campaign when someone searches “headphones” or “black friday”.
- Search analytics
- Top searches, searches with no results, and which products get clicked.
- Built for phones
- Full-width results with large tap targets.
- Keyboard and screen readers
- Arrow keys, Enter and Esc, with proper combobox roles.
- Never a dead search box
- If Gazelle can't be reached, the plugin falls back to your store's own search.
Tune it to your catalog
Sensible defaults out of the box. Change them when your search reports tell you to.
- Fuzziness
- Automatic by word length, or a fixed 1 or 2 letter tolerance. Numbers and SKUs are never fuzzed, so RUN-193 won't match RUN-198.
- Fields
- Turn searching in descriptions, short descriptions, SKUs, variant SKUs, attributes and custom fields on or off.
- Synonyms
- Two-way rules, including two-word phrases: “cell phone” = smartphone.
- Stop words
- Words like “and” or “with” are ignored so they don't block matches.
- Out of stock
- Hide sold-out products, or show them marked as out of stock.
- Ranking
- Title matches first, then brand, categories and tags, then descriptions. Best sellers win ties.
