Feature: search analytics
See which searches sell, and which ones leak.
A search with no results is a shopper telling you what they wanted to buy. Gazelle records every search with its results, clicks, carts and orders, and points out the ones worth fixing first.
Searches that fail
Each list links to a one-click fix: add a synonym, or create a rule that pins, boosts or redirects.
- Zero-result searches, ranked by how often they happen
- Searches with results but no clicks
- Searches shoppers retype straight away, with a suggested synonym
- New and fast-growing searches compared with the previous period
Revenue from search
Orders are credited to the last search in the visit. WooCommerce reports orders from the server, so both classic and block checkout are counted; on Shopify a web pixel reports carts and checkouts. Orders that didn't start with a search aren't counted.
Context for every number
Drill into any search term to see which products it found and which of them were clicked.
- Click-through rate and average click position
- Day-of-week and hour heatmap
- Mobile versus desktop
- Search speed
- Performance of each rule, banner and redirect
Questions
- How is search conversion rate calculated?
- Orders credited to search divided by searches in the same period. A search is credited when it's the last search the shopper made before ordering in that visit.
- Do you use cookies?
- Two first-party cookies on your store's own domain keep the visit and the last search together until checkout. No third-party tracking.
- Is analytics on the free plan?
- Top searches and zero-result searches are on every plan. Full analytics with suggestions and revenue are on Pro and Business.
