Instant product search for the GeneratePress theme.
GeneratePress keeps its header lean. You can add Gazelle's search bar with a header widget, or with a Hook element if you use GP Premium.

1. Install Gazelle Search
In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New, search for "Gazelle Search", install and activate it. WooCommerce must be active. Set the placeholder text and colors under Gazelle Search → Search Bar Settings, and the result layout under Gazelle Search → Autocomplete.
2. Without GP Premium: use the Header widget area
Go to Appearance → Widgets and add the classic "Gazelle Search" widget (or a Shortcode block with [gazellesearch]) to the Header widget area. It appears on the right side of the header.
3. With GP Premium: use a Hook element
Go to Appearance → Elements → Add New → Hook. Paste [gazellesearch], tick "Execute Shortcodes", choose a hook such as generate_after_header_content, and set the display rule to the entire site.
4. Turn off the navigation search
If you enabled GeneratePress's search icon in the navigation (Customize → Layout → Primary Navigation), turn it off so shoppers see one search box.
Check it on a phone
Turn on the mobile search overlay in Gazelle Search → Search Bar Settings so results open full screen above the keyboard. If space in the mobile header is tight, use the icon-only option. Then search for a product name and a SKU on a real phone.

Questions
- Which hook should I use?
- generate_after_header_content puts the search inside the header next to the logo. Try generate_inside_navigation if you'd rather have it in the menu bar.
- Does Gazelle change my theme's files?
- No. The search bar is added with a shortcode or widget through the theme's own settings, so theme updates won't remove it and you can undo it at any time.
